Common Questions

Does this meet the £5m+ contract requirement?
Yes — all reports are PPN 006–compliant, including mandatory Scope 3 categories, Net Zero commitment statements, and methodology declarations.
What file format do you accept?
CSV files with:
  • date (YYYY-MM-DD)
  • description (transaction description)
  • amount_gbp (GBP)

Optional: supplier, category (improves accuracy). Most accounting software can export in this format.

How do I correct my data?
  1. Review transactions flagged as "Requires_User_Input" in the preview (e.g. add "Gas" or "Electricity" where we've asked)
  2. Correct your original CSV (or use the file we attached in the email)
  3. Re-upload via the link in the email (or from the Upload page) to receive an updated report

Repeat as needed.
FreeAgent users: use the correction link in the email and upload your edited file from the Upload page.

How long does processing take?
Typically just a few minutes. You'll receive an email with your preview or report once complete.
Is my data secure?
Yes — your transactions are processed statelessly and never stored. Full GDPR compliance is maintained.
Can I use this for multiple clients?
Yes — specify a different company name per upload. Multi-client dashboards are coming soon.
How do I use FreeAgent?

FreeAgent integration is available now. From the Upload page, click Connect FreeAgent, then:

  1. Sign in to FreeAgent (if needed) and authorise SustainLedger
  2. Choose the company and date range for your report
  3. We fetch your explained transactions and process them the same way as a CSV — you receive the same PPN 006 report by email

No CSV export or manual upload required. If we need clarification (e.g. Gas or Electricity for an energy bill), we'll email you with a file to complete and re-upload.

How much does it cost?

SustainLedger is free to use during early access. We'll announce any pricing well in advance when it applies.

What emission factors do you use?
Latest UK Government GHG Conversion Factors (2025/2026), aligned with PPN 006 and GHG Protocol. Methodology is documented in every report.
